Chiefs -3.5
The Chiefs looked outstanding at home last weeks as they rolled over the Chargers. Arrowhead is one of the toughest places to play in the NFL, and KC has a much better secondary than the Ravens do. I choose to take the favorite at home in a shoot-out.
Texans +8
Although surprising that they were able to knock off the Dolphins in Miami, I was not surprised that the Texans played them tough. The Texans young offense led by David Carr and anchored by Stacey Mack at RB is very formidable. The question mark last year was the offensive line, which gave up the most sacks in NFL history. However, against a very good Miami defense last week, the line did not give up a sack nor did the offense commit a turnover. The Saints traveled all the way to Seattle to get spanked. Donte Stallworth dropped five passes, and Joe Horn got hurt. The Saints may be able to pull off a victory at home, but not by much. I will take the Texans and the points.
Rams -3
The Rams have owned the 49ers at home over the past couple of years. A healthy Bulger will start for the Rams, who was very successful last season in the starting role. Yes, Warner was sacked upwards of six times last week, but he was waiting too long to throw the ball. The defense played well against a very underrated Giants offense. The 49ers looked great last week against a pathetic Bears team. The Bears still have absolutely no weapons on offense, and are also very shaky on defense. Don't get too high on San Fran because of one big victory at home over a terrible team. I like the Rams big at home over the Niners.
Redskins +3
The Redskins offense got the job done at home last week against a still very strong Jets defense. Atlanta proved that Doug Johnson can get the job done while Vick is out of the line-up. The Falcons defense is missing several starters, and was never really challenged by a Dallas offense with very little weapons. Expect the Redskins to score at will.
